If you want to see this Mexico beach resort from a kid's point of view, you will want to read this review series written by kids!

Our family just returned from a 6 night stay at Planet Hollywood Cancun! As a travel agent and occasional travel blogger, I am working on my own thorough review of this resort, things to do at Planet Hollywood, what's included, excursions outside of the resort, and more which will be posted soon. But there are 4 kids in our bunch who all have different likes and dislikes when it comes to vacation and they all have differing perspectives and experiences so I wanted to give them an opportunity to share those with you.

Why?

Well, it's simple. A lot of my clients and friends who travel are doing family vacations and want to know "will my kids have fun?", "what is there for kids to do?", and even "is it boring for teens?" so I don't want to speak for my kids, I figure I can let them answer for themselves.

This is the first of the reviews. It's written by my 8 year old son, Joseph. A little bit about Joseph: He is a bookworm! He loves to read everything from Dog Man to Ted Dekker kids books and most everything in between. He is afraid of bugs, is not a very picky eater (although he does not like ranch dressing or cornbread stuffing). He loves to explore but is not a thrill seeker. He will do some small to medium sides water slides and stuff, but he doesn't like roller coasters or the huge water slides. He loves swim up bars and being in the water. So with those things in mind, let's dive in to his review of Planet Hollywood Cancun!

P.S. I wrote the "interview" questions, but the answers are all his. I have not changed them in any way except to correct a couple of spelling errors.

Here is the author of this review!

1. What was your favorite dinner restaurant we ate at? Asian, Steakhouse, Italian, or the buffet?

J: My favorite dinner restaurant is the Italian one because the cheese sticks were really good and they made the pizza from scratch.

A blonde haired boy is grabbing a piece of freshly baked cheese pizza from a tray on the table in front of him.
He REALLY enjoyed this pizza! They make the dough from scratch, too!

2. What were some of the best foods you ate, and why?

J: The best foods I ate were the Guy's Burgers fries and burgers because the fries were salty! Good Burger.

A boy in a bright orange shirt is taking a big bite out of a cheeseburger at the Guy's Burger Joint at Planet Hollywood Cancun
He was really enjoying his Guy's Burger on the first day here!

3. What foods did you NOT like, and why?

J: In the morning when we went to the buffet the fries were not that good for my opinion but in the afternoon they were good.

4. Do you think other kids would like the food here?

J: I think other kids would like the food here because the whole entire family did.

5. What drinks would you recommend for other kids to try?

J: I recommend a pina colada because it's like a coconut slushy and most people like slushies.

A boy is standing on the beach holding a cup filled with a frozen pina colada and smiling. In the background is the ocean, sand and sargassum seaweed.
Who cares about swimming when you have a frozen pina colada?

6. What were some of your favorite activities that you did? Why were they your favorite?

J: My favorite activity was Planet Play because I love trampolines.

A young boy and teenage girl are staning on a balancing beam at a trampoline park at planet hollywood cancun. They each have foam rolls that they are using to try to knock each other off of the beam.
Joseph and Sissy Battling" at Planet Play... Can you guess who won?

7. What activities did you NOT enjoy, and why?

J: I sadly did not enjoy the kids splash park because the slides are slow and the one that looked fun was blocked off.

A boy standing on a play pirate ship at a splash park pad at lanet hollywood cancun. The pirate ship has slides that are coming off of the side of it.
Here he is, definitely not having fun (note the sarcasm)

8. What did you think of our rooms? What did you like or not like? (We had a 2 bedroom director's suite in the Star Class section)

J: I loved the kids room it was so detailed and there was so many things to do.

A man is turning on the water to a tub that is on a patio overlooking a resort garden and entertainment area. There is a little boy sitting on the edge of the tub waiting to get in. It is sunset so the sky is darker and lights are on.
He really enjoyed playing in the tub on our balcony while I sat out there listening to the show music!

9. What did you think of the lazy river, pools, and beach at the resort? What did you like or not like, and which did you prefer?

J: I think the lazy river was ok. The pool, well only the swim up bar pools, were fantastic and the beach was fine.

A little boy is at a swim up bar in cancun in a lazy river drinking a pina colada and smiling while adults in the background order drinks and swim.
He was in his happy place--- he's very bougie.

10. What other things would you tell a friend who is thinking of coming here on vacation? What do they need to know (good or bad)?

J: I don't know anybody who's thinking of coming here but if I did I would tell them that it is really hot and so much fun!

11. What do you think mom and dad liked the BEST here? What do you think we liked LEAST?

J: Daddy liked the beach and I think mom liked the room and the balcony view. I think that dad didn't really enjoy the pool as much as the ocean. I think mom didn't like the FlowRider because she didn't do it.

A man and two boys play together in the ocean, the water is somewhat clear and it is a light turquois color. It is a sunny day with only a few clouds in the distance.
Yes, I would say dad had a good time in the ocean!

12. What are some differences between Planet Hollywood Cancun resort and a cruise? Which do you like better?

J: Easy! A cruise is a boat sailing across the ocean and Planet Hollywood is a resort in Mexico. I prefer a cruise because there is more indoor stuff to do.
