Here, the adventure never stops. Dive into non-stop action at Splash Water World—thrill-seekers big and small will love it—or jump right into the daily organized games and sports on the beach.
Having visited myself (and returning with a group coming up June 1–7, 2026—hint, hint, join us!), I can say firsthand that this is not just hype. I fell in love! The resort is part of a “RIU complex” with shared amenities and reciprocal privileges, but Bavaro wins the gold medal for convenience and perks. Plus, over 85% of families rated these experiences as their “best things to do”—and I agree!
Kids ages 4 to 12 will have a blast at the RIUland Kids’ Club, which offers supervised creative workshops and themed parties, giving them the chance to make new friends in a safe environment. Meanwhile, teens and adults can bond over beach volleyball, or take advantage of kayaking and snorkeling. What Are the Best Things to Do for All Ages?
When it comes to the best things to do for all ages at RIU Palace Bavaro, the options are practically endless (and yes, every generation in your travel squad can find their “happy place” here). Thinking of a getaway in 2026 or 2027? Here are the must-do activities that every generation will enjoy:
- Splash into fun at the sprawling Splash Water World park—kids and adults alike can join the thrill. (Bavaro is the closest property to the water park—super easy walk with no golf carts needed.) Make sure to check the height requirements for the big slides, as some of them do have strict height requirements for safety.
- Daily entertainment programs that nearly every guest I talked to raved about— and recent surveys reported 95% of families rate these as “excellent.”
- All-inclusive dining with global cuisine options, perfect for even the pickiest eaters. (Don’t sleep on the mango mousse from Cappuccino in the lobby, or the lobster mac and cheese at the steakhouse...personal picks!)
- Relax on a palm-fringed beach or jump into non-motorized water sports like snorkeling and kayaking. Keep in mind that summer is sargassum season so snorkeling may not be possible (I mean, you can still do it, but probably won’t see anything) during those times when the water is brown.
These all-inclusive experiences guarantee treasured memories, year after year, at RIU Palace Bavaro. Want more details or a custom quote? You know who to message. 😉
#1 Splash Water World Access and Multiple Splash Pads
If you’re searching for the ultimate must-do activity for your family vacation, Splash Water World at RIU Palace Bavaro easily takes the crown. This incredible water park is for everyone—imagine a variety of giant water slides and a fun splash pad for the littlest travelers. There’s genuinely something for every age, from safe toddler zones to the wildest racer slides.
My insider tip: Bavaro is the CLOSEST property to Splash Water World—if you love convenience (or corralling kiddos with minimal extra walking), that’s a game-changer. My own kids will spend hours at the splash pad and the big slides so I am glad we are going to be super close--- I won’t have to lug towels, sunscreen and kids very far!
Splash Water World
Dive into endless fun at Splash Water World, RIU Palace Bavaro’s action-packed aquatic playground and a must-do activity on any family itinerary. With adrenaline-pumping slides, splash zone, and plenty of shaded seating for relaxation, guests of all ages stay cool and entertained. You’ll want to make a beeline here as soon as you arrive. Again, look into the height requirements for the bigger slides because they are pretty strict about the safety of their guests (thankfully!).
Splash Pads For The Little Ones
For kids who are younger or do not meet the height requirements for the bigger slides, never fear! There are other options! The little ones won’t want to leave the vibrant splash pads—specifically designed for safe, supervised fun! Shallow pools, colorful slides, and smiling lifeguards mean kids can let loose, and grown-ups can relax a bit too. There is a splash pad at the Splash Water World as well as additional splash zones in the family section of the resort! There is also a mini food court there in the family section so families can grab quick bites without having to drag the kids away from their playing for long!
@ck_getaways Yeah today is a rainy day but oh well! Which slide would you do first? I would do one of the twisty slides first I think. This is Splash Water World at RIU Palave Bavaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Now the important thing to know is that if you are staying at any of the following RIU resorts you will have access to this: RIU Palace Bávaro, RIU Palace Macao (Adults Only), RIU Bambu, and RIU Palace Punta Cana. Bavaro is the closest, and the others are a longer walk to get here and there are no golf carts to transport guests back and forth. This waterpark also has a drink station and seating area which is not shown in the video where you can sit and enjoy refreshment but you can not take drinks or food around the slides. There are height requirements for these bigger slides and other rules to follow while you are there for your safety. #vacationwithkids #familytravel #amenities #allinclusiveresort #rainydayactivities

#2 Nightly Activities For All!
When the sun goes down at RIU Palace Bavaro, the fun is just getting started. Nightly activities here are absolutely legendary and perfect for groups of any size and every generation.
Whether your vacation is set for 2026, 2027, or beyond, you can look forward to:
- Live music in an outdoor theater setting
- Vibrant themed parties (White Party, Neon Splash, and more!)
- High-energy dance performances
- Karaoke and family-friendly shows
A lot of my clients list nightly entertainment as one of their must-do activities and look for resorts that offer multiple options. Even though I personally was sometimes too tired to join every event (don’t you judge me!), the resort buzzed each night! The energy is warm and upbeat—choose your own pace.
RIU Party (18+)
Craving an adults-only highlight? You’ll love RIU Party! These electrifying celebrations are open to all four RIUs in the complex, so it’s easy to rally a group and head over on the party shuttle. Neon Splash or Pink Party, you’ll meet folks from all over and dance into the night under the Caribbean sky.
Shows, Trivia Games, RIUland Kids Club Parties, and More!
RIU Palace Bavaro does a stellar job making nights unforgettable for all ages. Expect a variety of live shows, trivia games, and the famous RIUland Kids Club parties. It’s true—my family still talks about the kids dance party at the last RIU we went to, and how the kids got their very own bash on stage with the entertainment staff… they are looking forward to doing the same at RIU Palace Bavaro! You’ll see the entertainment team moving around the resort by day, too—always a bit of fun or a moment to join in.
#3 Mall Style Outdoor Food Court
Time to treat your taste buds! RIU Palace Bavaro’s Food Court is, honestly, one of my favorite things about this property—a total game-changer versus other RIU resorts I’ve seen (or really most resorts I’ve been to from other brands as well). Think: pizzas, juicy burgers, hot dogs, tacos, sweet treats, ice cream, a bar, even a wok station—and it’s just steps from the main pool and the beach. Easy access for families on the go!
Personal plug: Don’t skip the RIU Fried Chicken (RFC… get it?) --- the chicken nuggets were perfection. I may have tried more than my fair share...for research.
Even better? There’s a smaller version of the food court in the family section by the splash pads. The selection is not as expansive but a lot good stuff is there. You’re never more than a short walk from a slice, a burger, or a cold scoop (or a frozen cocktail)—perfect for maximizing your play time without slowing down.
Families love these snack bars for:
- Freshly made, kid-friendly snacks
- Shaded, comfortable seating
- Super speedy service
#4 Nightly Mixology Cart With A Different Drink Every Night
Picture this—you’re settling on what activity you want to do for the evening, and a bar cart in the lobby (which is central to everything) boasts a new specialty drink for you to sample every single night. That’s exactly what happens each night at RIU Palace Bavaro! And let me just say, the mixology cart is awesome.
Whether you want a mojito, an old fashioned, a martini, or the magical “Honey Deuce” (trust me, order it!), there’s a rotating menu. The bartender when I was there last was friendly, did quick demonstrations, and always made the experience feel personalized.
Many people I spoke to called this a stay highlight, and for good reason—it’s a little moment of delight each night, and I found the drinks pleasantly robust (not too watered down). Cheers to variety, relaxation, and making vacation memories one sip at a time!
@ck_getaways Every single night Bernardo was out there making fantastic drinks! They change from one night to the next! This particular martini was delicious. Another night they were making old fashioneds which I normally don't like, but I tried it and enjoyed it. This is such a fun perk of staying at this resort along with the other amenities they have available! We have a group going in June 2026--- if you want to join just let me know! We can go see Bernardo together ❤️ This is my favorite RIU resort I have traveled to on vacation! #riuresorts #allinclusive #beachresort #barcart #puntacanavacation @RIU Hotels & Resorts

#5 RIUland Kids Club
Want the ultimate stress-free (but super fun) family vacation? The RIUland Kids Club is an essential stop—and a huge reason multigenerational groups, like mine, keep coming back. Designed for ages 4–12, the club’s newly revamped program truly shines.
On my visit, kids could choose between pirate-themed treasure hunts, creative crafts, mini-Olympics, and interactive dance parties. The staff is top-notch: so friendly, always attentive, and they make the experience feel special (and safe). With programs running every day and plenty of little surprises, it’s great for both kids and parents. I like to drop my kids off for a fun afternoon with their new friends and take a book down to the beach for some “me time”.
If you’re eyeing a trip in 2026 or 2027, this club is a lifesaver for parents who want a touch of quiet time or a chance to explore adult activities. Plus, kids leave with new friends and the best vacation stories.
A Few More “Crissandra’s Picks” & Insider Tips
- Elite Club Section: Adults-only (18+), private pool/bar, elevated service—great for couples or friend groups!
- Room Service? Yes—24/7, and the rooms are freshly renovated as of 2024, super modern, and comfy.
- Special Diets/Pickiness: No problem! So much selection at the buffets, a la carte, and food courts.
- Walking Beach: The stretch is long, clean, and STUNNING. Perfect for beachcombers. Again, keep sargassum in mind… Mother Nature won’t plan her life around your vacation (sadly).
- Bonus for groups: Bavaro has 994 rooms (!!), so families, reunions, and friend groups don’t need to stress about finding space.
- Wristbands for all: This is a wristband, key card, and towel card resort. Lose your wristband? There’s a hefty fee. All guests, including children, get a wristband to signify that they are guests at this particular property.
If you’re planning your own adventure, have questions, or want “insider” recommendations (like which bars have the best frozen drinks, or the difference between Elite Club for 18+ and non-Elite Club), don’t hesitate to reach out. And if you want to join my fun, all-ages group June 1–7, 2026—space is limited, so act soon!

This is, hands down, one of the best RIU resorts I’ve ever experienced—and I travel quite a lot for a living! Whether you’re planning for 2026 (or farther in the future), or just daydreaming about somewhere tropical, let’s chat.
